You Died Symbol Reference: Warrior’s Round Shield

You Died features a symbol of a circular shield design. It’s a reference to a shield design idea found in Dark Souls: Design Works on page 106. This design was used in the game on the Warrior’s Round Shield.

The circular shield design symbol is featured in You Died on pages 105 and 221.

It is also part of the symbol substitution table used to encrypt secret messages in the endpapers where it stands for the letter E.
