You Died Symbol Reference: Void Sun

You Died features a symbol of a sun with a hole in its center. It’s called the “Void Sun” and it’s a custom graphic that Andrew P Hind (Instagram, Twitter) created to mark the importance of fire – and the sun, more generally – in the Souls cosmos (source).

The Void Sun symbol is featured in You Died at the top of pages 78, 167, 248, 264, 331 and atop the secret message on page 357. It can also be seen on the book spine in a light and dark version.

The Void Sun appears on the book spine, endpapers and book pages. It is distinct from Warriors of Sunlight, the Crown of the Dark Sun and the Lord of Sunlight.
